EXPANDING GRANT-MAKING IN 2010-2011
In its inaugural year, I-SAEF was only able to fund two out of the five projects that passed our Advisors' rigorous screening process (see below for details). I-SAEF is expanding its fund-raising with the goal that all deserving projects in the 2010-2011 grant-making cycle are able to receive support from the foundation. To find out how you can get involved contact info@i-saef.org.
GRANT SELECTION PROCESS:
I-SAEF assembled an international team of twelve Scientific Advisors (headed by Nobel Prize Laureate Alan Heeger) as well as a team of Commercial Advisors (headed by Jack Levy of Israel Clean-Tech Ventures) to conduct a two-phase review process to select the winning projects in solar energy. This objective peer review was developed to identify the very best ideas purely based on merit. According to these world-class experts, the probability of the science succeeding is high and would make a major impact on the alternative energy landscape. I-SAEF received competitive proposals from all six major Israeli technology universities: Bar-Ilan University, Technion, Weizmann Institute, Ben-Gurion University, Tel Aviv University and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
